Supervalent thought

One of the goals of Berlant's Supervalent Thought (which she wrote from 2007-2018) was to analyse everyday micro-experiences: encounters on the street or at the store. The pedestrian everydayness of the blog seems to be suited for this experiment.

The same drive lies behind Berlant & Kathleen Stewart's little book The Hundreds (link). The book is a selection of very short theoretically-informed descriptions of encounters.

Another legendary academic blog was Mark Fisher's K-punk (here): also a combination of the personal & theoretical.

Berlant's blog started from an experience that she describes in the second post (which can be found here) as a story that holds the middle between a Freudian dream narrative and a Kafkaesque micro-story. A story that she doesn't analyse but simply narrates, leaving it to us to speculate about its meanings.
